Collector Vehicles – Are you a lucky owner?

Collector Vehicles

We at Herlihy Insurance Group are working to get the message out on Collector Vehicles.

Recently on our office we have had a few calls about Bentley’s, Corvettes, Antique Fire Trucks and a few Mustangs.

All of these inquiries gave us the change to revisit a few important things that our Collector Vehicle owners may want to consider when selecting their insurance.

“Agreed Value Coverage”

This is what you want on your Collector Vehicle. Agreed Value coverage guarantees the policy will pay the full insured amount of the vehicle, inclusive of all sales taxes – with no depreciation – in case of a covered total loss.

Choice of Repair Shops and Parts

Certainly a valuable option that may not be on your policy.

Mileage Limitations

Check any mileage limitations. Some clients need unlimited miles.

Driver Limitations

Always review your drivers. Some policies exclude coverage for drivers under the age of 25.

Questions on your Collector Vehicle? Just give us a call or send us an email.

We will review your coverage with you and make certain you have the right coverage for your Collector Vehicle. Not all policies are the same!

Welcome to Life Insurance Awareness Month!

Life Insurance Awareness Month

We at Herlihy Insurance Group are committed to educating our client about insurance. Some time that job is tougher than we would like!

Life insurance is typically one of the topics that many of our clients prefer not to discuss. We frequently hear, “I am all set.” Or “That is too expensive.” Or ” I don’t believe in life insurance.” Or “That is on my list to look into.” Do any of these responses sound familiar?

If so, please take a moment during Life Insurance Awareness Month to consider:

Six in ten Americans own life insurance.

As many as 132 million Americans rely on life insurance to protect their financial security. Major reasons given for owning life insurance include covering burial and other final expenses (51 percent), to help replace lost income (34 percent) and to help pay off the mortgage (26 percent).

More Coverage Needed

However, 30 percent of Americans know they need more life insurance. Twenty-five percent wish their spouse or partner would purchase some or more life insurance.

Now ask yourself…

How much life insurance am I providing for my loved ones?
Is this provided by my job or do I own it individually?

Be aware! Take the time to review what you have in place and understand how it works.

And please remember… any information on life insurance is FREE!! You can gather all of the facts and costs and then decide if you need any changes.

If we at Herlihy Insurance Group may be of assistance, please let us know.

Social Engineering Fraud and Your Business Insurance

Cyber Fraud

As one of our company partners stated, “An old con is a new threat.”

Our challenge is always how to get the message out about new risks to our clients. In today’s interconnected world, there are new challenges with “fraudsters” lurking in the anonymity of cyber space.

Social engineering fraud is when a “fraudster” deceptively gains the confidence of an employee or vendor and induces him or her to part with money, securities or goods. Fraud scheme can be difficult to detect and can result in a company handing over valuables to a criminal without even realizing it.

Social Engineering Fraud Coverage is now available to protect businesses from this type of event.

Here are a two important facts about this type of fraud:

  1. Companies can be victimized by anyone—even a trusted vendor can be the victim of a hacker who poses as the vendor, redirecting your next payment.
  2. Smaller companies often are more vulnerable to fraud because they may lack financial or wire transfer controls that larger companies may routinely employ.

Unfortunately social engineering fraud and scams are increasingly more common.

Herlihy Insurance Group suggests you review the types of Crime Insurance you have selected for your business and make sure you ask about this Social Engineering Fraud.

It’s up to you to keep your business fraud free!
