A Funny Thing Happened to the Ring!

At Herlihy Insurance Group, we love to celebrate engagement stories! Gathering with family and friends to celebrate the proposal is always a fun event!

However, losing the ring after the proposal is not so fun!

A family member recently had a “lost ring” scare. The proposal was very fun, the ring was given to the fiancé, and she was super excited to show off that new ring at work the next day. Unfortunately, the ring was just a tiny bit too big and slid off her finger!!

The ring had been insured on a policy in the name of the ring purchaser. The insurance company claimed that once it has been “given,” the new owner has to insure the ring.

YIKES! The good news is, the ring was found! The other good news is, if you are reading this, you can always check in with us when you are acquiring and gifting a valuable jewelry item.

At our office when things like this happen, we alert the insurance company and update the insurance coverage to protect the ring for both parties.
