Household Members Are a Thing on your car and home insurance?

As the seasons change so may our households which is why this is a great time to take a look at your household members!

In Massachusetts your “household members” are referenced on both your car and home insurance, so understanding how these work is important.

On your car insurance it is pretty simple. All “household members” who are licensed should be listed on your car insurance policy. As the policy states “failure to list licensed household members may result in the denial of a claim”. Please keep in mind that these “household members” that have their own policies do not cost you any additional money to list! They just need to be listed as “deferred”.

The home insurance policy includes a number of people as house hold members which is good!

Depending on the home insurance form (there are a few versions) a house hold member is defined as follows:
